The fact that I had a burger so good as to knock off Roadhouse is as shocking as it is that the new Best Burger is in Great Falls. Both of the best burgers I have had are located in Great Falls. The new king of the hill is at Harvest Craft Kitchen, located in the Wild Hare. I had the Pimento Bacon Cheeseburger and the quality, flavor and overall experience was the best I had in Montana, let alone Great Falls.
Honorable Mention: 5 Guys, Roadhouse, Street Burgers, Buffalo Wild Wings
Fun atmosphere and quality food. Famous for their nachos (1/2 Order easily feeds 4 adult males), this is a go to place for either a football game or even a brunch on a Sunday. Simply a great experience and if you enjoy adult beverages, try their Bloody Mary bar. Located downtown in Missoula, the college town atmosphere enhances the experience. 7.8
Honorable Mention:
The Block, Halft
Boasting a wide array of gourmet coffees and specialty baked goods, Crooked Tree delivers a flavorful experience with a quaint, family friendly ambience. The owners are hands on and always willing to engage the customers. Lovely experience and one of the best coffee shop/breakfast locations in Montana. Best quiche I have had in Great Falls!
Honorable Mention: Miss Kitty's Cafe, Broadwater Coffee, True Brew, Florence Coffee
I love pizza. It is my favorite food and it's not even that close. Unfortunately, Great Falls lacks in great pizza. I mean, that was until I had the Thai Chicken Pizza at Fire. Completely awesome. Great flavor, texture with the wood fire crust and just a great culinary experience. You can split the pizzas in half and it is worth a visit to see them. Great atmosphere, kid friendly and a great staff makes this a GO TO spot!
When you think of Montana, you think of getting outside and enjoying this beautiful country. Great Falls is no different and boast a wide array of recreational activities in and around the city. Enjoy world class fishing, skiing and all types of outdoor sports all within a hour away. Truly a center for activities that Montanans hold dear.
For the person who enjoys all the outdoor activities that Montana offers, go to Big Horn Wilderness Store. Get outfitted with all the latest gear and technology that you will need to explore the great outdoors. Talk to Chris and the staff there and they will lock you on. Great customer service with expertise in what they do. Want to rent equipment to go paddle boarding, biking or skiing? They have options for that as well!! Go check them out!
Honorable Mention: Scheels
While Great Falls offers some outstanding parks, nothing compares to Giant Springs Park. Miles of walking trails bordering the Missouri River offers a full day of fun for the entire family. Besides trails, there are kid playgrounds and even a fish hatchery. It also has is home to the Lewis & Clark Interpretive Center and offer beautiful views of the Missouri River and the Great Falls...no pun intended.
Honorable Mention: Gibson Park, Lions Park
There are three courses in Great Falls that are open to the public. There is a private course, but for the sake of reviewing what the normal, everyday person can play, we will stick to the two municipal courses and a small executive style course. For the money, I would rather play at Eagle Falls. To me it is fair but not as punitive as Anaconda Hills. The course is well maintained and offers a challenging, yet fun experience for all levels of golfers.
Honorable Mention: Anaconda Hills
While Planet Fitness offers a $10/month deal, if you decide to spend more it is well worth the money at The Peak. Featuring pools, basketball courts, massages, classes and so much equipment it will make your head spin, The Peak is not just a gym, but a lifestyle. Featuring two campuses, it is the best place for the gym rat that lies dormant in all of us.
Honorable Mention: Falls Fitness, Planet Fitness
Winners are based on my own experiences.
