 Bill Phelps Kids Fishing Day

Join us at Silver Lagoon in McCormick Park on Saturday, May 09, as we cast a line and honor the memory of the late Bill Phelps. We’ll have prizes for categories including youngest angler, biggest catch, and more! Ages 6 & under will fish from 10:00-11:00, and ages 7-14 from 11:30-12:30.

This event is free, and we’ll have limited bait and poles available—first come, first served.

Billings Parks Recreation & Public Lands Department is proud to announce the inaugural Roots & Renewal event for 2026! Kicking off with our Annual Arbor Day celebration at Castle Rock Park, organizations across the City will join us in a multi-day celebration of our natural world.

Thank you to Nomadic Yoga, MSU Extension, Arthouse Billings, Montana Audubon Center, Billings Public Library, People's Garden, and Yellowstone Country Weed District for support this brand new event!
