Opinion Ticker

IMITATION IS THE SINCEREST FORM OF FLATTERY:   There is nothing more that we love to see than other news outlets copying our platform strategies.  We have built brands from scratch and that comes from a singular vision.  We appreciate that other media outlets are doing the same, because it simply reaffirms the fact that what we have created is a winning strategy.  Copy away.  We will simply do it better.

GREAT FALLS MAKES STATEMENT WITH BASEBALL STADIUM REPAIRS -  Own a baseball team, pay a mere $12k a YEAR in rent for a baseball stadium and make the city the pay for the upkeep of the stadium.  Sounds like a great business model.  We love sports and will always believe that sports play a vital role in the community, especially with the youth.  But, we never want to hear that a safety levy is needed.  We never want to hear that parks and recreation is lacking funds.  Does the city gain any value in holding onto the stadium or should they sell it?  If the city hangs onto it, should they establish a joint revenue sharing venture to bring in concerts and other events?  Or at the very least, shouldn't they get more than $12k a year while paying $1.8M in maintenance and upkeep in 23 years.  So, the city spends $78k a year in upkeep and get $12k a year in rent payments.  Then you wonder why we push to privatize.  Government cannot run a business.

MAKE SURE THE JUICE IS WORTH THE SQUEEZE -  I care about GOD, my family and this COUNTRY.  Those are the battles I will fight and the hills I will die on.  Realize that life is so short and one day you will wake up and be old.  Don't waste your time fighting a fight not worth fighting.  Don't let people bait you into an argument about something that has zero meaningful impact on your life.  Win your day.  Win Life. - Nov. 5th, 2025

POLITICAL LEADERS HAVE TO DO THE HARD PART -  I was at the Cascade County Treasurer the other day.  Big signs saying "NOW HIRING".  I love that in a way because I want people to WORK, but as I engaged one of the staff, they said when we are short staffed, its non-stop at times and you can hardly catch your breath.  She said they need to hire two more people.  I thought, why?  Isn't part of work, to work as hard as you can and time would fly by?   Look, I never understood the mentality of the public sector.  So maybe it's on me.  I don't take hour lunches and don't take week long vacations each year.  But, if you have 5 workers and they manage, but are busy most of the day, why do you need to hire more people?   Why don't you pay the 5 workers more?  Why don't you incentivize hard work and reward that vs hiring more people to stand around (or sit as they do there)?  You know that is one of the frustrating things about government jobs.  Their salaries and their health insurance is paid by taxpayers, so shouldn't political leaders try very hard to limit all those expenses?  But they don't, because they have an allocation and a budget and they have to use it all to get the same or more the next year.  I worked for the federal government for the Dept. of Defense and the USMC, (so I have seen how bureaucracy can weigh everything down) and then I went to work for the private sector.  Government is bloated and truly inefficient while the private sector runs it to turn a profit, because it's their money not the taxpayer's..  If you want to run departments better, whether it's city, county, state or federal, then privatize as much as you can.  You can have a collaboration between the public and private, much like CourseCo when they took over the golf courses in Great Falls, but it needs to be run like a private business.  Or if you cannot privatize, then learn to fire people.  I don't enjoy it, but I have had to fire many people.  It bothered me at first, but now if I have to, I look at them and realize that the whole group (company, department) is better off long term if I fire this person.  It is only about the long term.  It is only about the best for the whole.  Trim down the size of the government and then pay more for the ones who are worth it.  But, we don't need 15% (prob more) of the total government, whether it's local or on a larger level.  Trim it down, become efficient and take the immense burden off the taxpayer.- Nov. 5th, 2025

GREAT FALLS BANS FIREWORKS - Great Falls votes to ban fireworks just in time for the 250th Birthday of America.  Government controls your lives and you vote for more of it. - Nov. 5th, 2025

SHOOTING AT PHOENIX APARTMENTS IN GREAT FALLS - When you have a 12 and 13 year old charged in connection with shooting someone, you have a parenting problem.  Lazy, weak, absent parents.  Charge them all.  Right?  Let's face it.  Hold someone accountable.  Nov. 4th, 2025

BE WILLING TO WORK - A reminder that if you want to buy without looking at the price, you must work without looking at the clock.  There are no days off.  You must work insanely hard every day.  Let's go! - Nov. 4th, 2025

BE RESPONSIBLE FOR YOUR FAMILY - Waking up to not being able to feed your children because the government cut off SNAP should be a moment of self reflection.  Don't rely on others to handler your responsibilities as a parent.  Nov. 3rd, 2025

COMPASSION BREEDS ENABLING -  The Food Stamp Act was passed in 1964.  Now, 42M Americans are on SNAP.  There is a fine line between compassion and enabling.   Nov. 3rd, 2025

WE ARE BLESSED BEYOND MEASURE -  The United States is the greatest country on Earth.  We have traveled to 43 countries and have seen the best and worst that the world can offer.  People don't understand how fortunate we are and how we should never take it for granted.  Nov. 2nd, 2025
