A dry weekend will give way as a cold front moves through the area Sunday night and brings showers through Monday. Cold air will move in briefly Tuesday and exit Wednesday as new chances for rain and snow begin Wednesday night lasting through Friday.

Look for warm and dry conditions through the weekend. A front on Monday night will bring rain and snow to parts of the area, along with slightly cooler temperatures.

Snow develops this afternoon across the continental divide near Glacier National Park and continues through Monday morning with a period of moderate snowfall expected early Monday morning. Expect areas of lower visibility and slushy or snow cover road surfaces near Glacier National Park, including portions of US-2 and US-89.

[3/28 5:53am] Here's the current status of snow water (water in the existing mountain snowpack) divided by subbasin. Some areas are close to normal (including the Yellowstone Headwaters & Clarks Fork) while most are below normal. The good news is that we will be adding some snow to the mountains next week.

A disturbance will bring increasing rain chance to the region Sunday night into Monday with up to an 0.10” inch possible, especially along the Hi-Line. Isolated snow may be possible from Opheim to Plentywood Monday morning. Gumbo roads are possible in areas with the most precipitation.
